PROJECT 2 BRAINSTORM BLOG: SCULPTING FASHION

I used to be easily overwhelmed and aversive towards digital art software because the infinite possibilities for variation and adjustment was too much control for me to handle. I'd find myself consumed for hours stuck on the tiniest adjustment to an art piece because I couldn't decide which of 10 options looked better, or because I kept stumbling into another viable option for editing. I'm very much in love with the art of limitation that accompanies traditional artmaking, which appears to me as essential in being able to master a difficult-to-acquire skill. However, fucking around on Blender has reignited my willingness to be a digital artist, as I believe the above predicament changes when 3D elements/sculpting is involved. The time and material consumption involved in rendering a 3D piece would be a lot more fruitful for me when I could save and create new files of variations on sculpture surface shape and texture...

Additionally, Blender allows me to actualize my experimental fashion concepts without financial, space, etc. conditions. I've always wanted a find a way to design my fashion within the limitations of being a full time student; blender would allow me to actualize my ideas on the screen! As a monster lover who integrates the inhuman into my fashion expression, I want to use this project as an opportunity to experiment with some of the monster mask/headdress ideas I have, which would otherwise be extremely difficult to make without access to silicone, mold making supplies, etc.

Below are some of the forms of digital fashion and monster sculpting I've enjoyed seeing being made in Blender, + some ofthe handmade fashion/themes I want to go with.
